Thank you to everyone who has so far sent in their Avebury Rocks 2 sponsor money to us, next week we hope to have a meeting to discuss the final fundraising figure, which will be given to our two beneficiaries the Prospect Hospice and CALM (Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement).
Prospect Hospice’s dedicated end of life care last year reached more than 1,850 people living with cancer and other serious conditions in Swindon, north Wiltshire, and also in Fairford and Lechlade in Gloucestershire. The first Avebury Rocks raised over £30,000 for this worthy cause.
CALM (Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement aims are to improve the quality of life for both children going through treatment, and the parents and families during and after treatment. CALM provides support to families to cope with physical, emotional and often financial strain. It is not uncommon for other members of the family to suffer stress related illness in the Swindon and Marlborough NHS Trust area.
I am sure you will agree it was a fantastic day and here is a reminder of what a fantastic fundraising day it was please view the slideshow of the walk here and the evening concert here
