The Gibson Family are fantastic supporters and have raised hundreds of pounds, by completing a yearly fundraising challenge for Love Hope Strength Foundation. Shirley Gibson tells us about this years challenge.
This year, Conor came up with the idea of a Rainford walk after reflecting on what Mike had gone through, and after hearing of how LHS was founded, and how it has developed. I guess it brought it more home to him after Mark, Calum and Conor did the half walk up Snowdon a couple of years ago, and maybe he realised that it was something special to inspire me to have done the walks that I have participated in. The Rainford walk took place on 4 June 2012, the date of my late parents’ wedding anniversary. It was Conor’s idea, and he talked with Mark, Keith and Calum to work out the best route. The walk was approximately 5 miles in distance, and it was completed in just over 2 hours.
